The following was sent in by one of our readers and is very interesting...

The Brampton Arts Council offices are believed to be haunted by the spirit of Mr. Beecham, one of the last caretakers to inhabit the residence. We often experience unexplained incidents, including:

1: Missing or relocated files (missing off of the Executive Director's desk, and found hidden in the backs of file cabinet drawers in the upper floor offices,

2: The smell of pipe tobacco,

3: footsteps in the upper floor late in the evening, when small meetings are being held late in the main floor Board Room,

4: footsteps coming up the basement stairs,

5: At one time we would find the telephones off the hook in the mornings, the receivers dangling over the desk sides (although this has stopped in the last few years).

The BAC Staff have taken this all in stride, as Mr. Beecham was a kind and well regarded man and the events do not seem "threatening" in any way. We have even heard of rumours of events in the actual school, including stories of footsteps being heard, and someone whistling old tunes after hours.

Let me know if you know of anyone who might be interested in this phenomenon.
