Not everyone who visits or works at this 180-plus year old building has experienced it's resident ghosts. The new owners, since buying the establishment in 1997, have yet to reckon with Stella or George but some people have said they have encountered the two possible spirits.

"Stella" as she was dubbed by the staff, is a dark haired bar maid hangs out inside mostly on the second floor. Apparently she loves to play with the lights causing them to dim unexpectedly.

"George" (again, christened by the staff,) is described as an older gentleman (about 80 years old?) who seems to be wearing uniform, tails and white pants, carrying a musket. He is described as a trickster who also sometimes has acted as a bouncer for the pub. He does seem to prefer being outside of the building.

The ghosts seem rather benevolent and were described as being "friendly, making the pub a happy meeting place to the living and deceased".

Like most buildings of this era (and in this location,) the Lighthouse Pub was yet another station of the underground railway which is interesting because more than one psychic and "ghost enthusiast" says that these terminals seem to be a hotbed of ghostly activity. Do the spirits of George and Stella have anything to do with this most intense period of history? Who knows but the tales of the past and possibly the future experiences of those who've met one or the other of this ghostly duo will remain regardless of their point of origin.
