Private Residence, Bishop Street

The tragic death of a beautiful young woman explains the ghost that inhabits this old home.

Opera singer Riki Turofsky once lived in the house with her daughter Carrie. Unfortunately, Carrie passed away at the age of 19 (oddly enough, not in the house but in a hospital). Past residents have reported the sound of feet running up and down the stairs. Ms. Turofsky feels that this poltergeist is that of her young daughter who "used to run everywhere", frantically searching for a lost chai medal.

Apparently, the spirit is not always nice either. Once it may have shoved a woman down the stairs who, as a result of the fall, shattered her ankle. The woman was the consequent owner of the house, who had taken advantage of Ms. Turofsky's grief and financial situation and purchased the house at an extremely low price. Was Carrie taking revenge on the woman for the unfair treatment of her mother?

Again, thanks to Mr. Colombo for this tale from his book, Haunted Toronto
