The following was sent in by one of our readers:
Going back to 1995, my mum and sister went to Toronto and on their visit decided to try out the Purple Pepper Cafe' on Queens Quay.

My mum needed to use the bathroom facilities and while there she said that from out of the blue this "woman" started dramatically going on about, (mum described as if to someone who wasn't responding), how this other person should repent their sins and God would forgive them. Here are the remembered words:

"Ask for forgiveness and God will forgive you for killing those children."

Mum said she was just ranting after that, "You need to ask for forgiveness!" My mum said, these words repeated over and over again.

Now you and I know this sounds like one of those strange people who stand on streets and yell this kind of thing at people going about their business! And mum thought "Ooo God, head case!" But then mum said....what happened next was something that alerted her that this was not right.

She looked through the crack of the door to check this strange person out. She assures me that she could see all around in there, but there was NO woman. Then mum said she suddenly heard "whoosh, I'm gone!"

But the voice seemed to come from no where. And certainly there was no one physically there from where it was coming from.

Now all through this, my big sister is in the bar waiting for my mum to come back. And decided to go looking for her. Then mum said she noticed the door had a distinctive 'creek' when opened or shut. But she did not hear this noise until my sister came in and when they left.

If you knew my mum and my sister, they had a darn good laugh about if my mum was drunk or had gone nuts! But mum say's it really did scare her to death, and she was scared to come out of the stall! I know my mum better than anybody.....she is all there mentally, doesn't drink much at all, and would never make this up. This story has puzzled us for years. Even up to the point where we have wondered if it's a tape that they put on when you go in to scare the tourists!
