One of our readers shares the following:

"We were married in May of 1971 and bought this house in October of 1971, and moved in.  We experienced weird things right away, chains being dragged, fireplace screens falling, breathing Christmas tree, fire in the window, seeing a man in a rocking chair, and could never get the house feeling warm. We met other people who had owned the house previously and they also experienced things like we did. We were told that a man built the house in the late 1880's for when he was married, the marriage didn't happen and he hung himself in what was then the living room, when we bought the house it was duplexed and the old LR was now our bedroom, and is where I saw the man. He told me not to be afraid and my dog also sat up and saw it, but I could not wake my husband to show him. My friends were over and said they did not believe in ghosts, and at that exact second, the legs on the couch they were sitting on collapsed. We moved out of the house in October of 1973 and sold it. I have tried to find out the history of the house and it does not match the story of the hanging, so not sure what to think.  I went to the Registry Office and tried to find the original owner of the house, and he lived there for several years, so does not match the stories I was told. We had a priest come over after my daughter was born in 1972 and have the house blessed. We had several people over and wished him peace and asked him to please leave. I had named the ghost "Herman" and he was seen quite often."
