The following was sent in by one of our readers...

In the early 70's I leased a house on Huntley Street. The property is located on the south east corner of Huntley & Selby.

There are two large semi-detached houses with an adjacent cottage. Ours was the second semi-south of the corner. The houses had been purportedly constructed by a captain of the Cutty Sark.

In the living room of the first house was a map painted on the plaster & lath above the fireplace with red dots marking owned plantations. This map was painted over when that house was renovated.

My bedroom was located on the second floor of the second house. One night I woke up and immediately was gripped by fear, I felt that there was someone in the room with me, although it was summer - it was artic cold.

When I finally summoned the courage to get up and turn on the lights, there was no one there.

A few nights later a strange event occurred - a large wooden metal strapped trunk (which had not come with the house) turned upside down on its own. As it was full of heavy storage items, this should not have been possible.

Although I and a group of friends kept vigil for a week, no further events happened, but there was always a strange feeling in that house.

Is the phenomena gone? Do you have anything to add or a similar story to tell?
