Personal Residence - Arthur, Ontario

For seven years the witnesses lived peacefully in an old brick farmhouse just outside of Arthur Ontario. After they had decided to renovate and remove an outdated summer kitchen in the back of the house they began to experience what may be a poltergeist or poltergeist-like phenomena.
The witnesses' report that the phenomena experienced began with a series of "moans" that could be heard over a period of several nights. The "moans" were approximately one hour in duration and only occurred in the evening hours. Subsequent investigation could not locate or pinpoint the causation of theses eerie sounds. The sounds themselves abruptly stopped occurring, to be replaced by even stranger events.
The witnesses, including on occasion friends experienced the following: "cold spots," the sound of footsteps, shadowy apparitions also known as shadow folk or people, the sounds of a banjo playing (whilst no banjo was in the house), malfunctioning of phones, objects being moved, including a heavy mirror which fell with no apparent cause. These are all events that are usually attributed to poltergeists by parapsychologists when no known causation can be found.
Perhaps strangest of all was the appearance of a water-stain on an upstairs wall, which the witnesses believe showed the face of "an old lady." The image itself of the "lady" could very well be a case of three-dot syndrome (an optical illusion), but proper investigation was not conducted at the time of it's appearance and it now no longer exists. We can only take the witnesses statements at face value and speculate.
During the renovation period rotting clothing was found including a long dress, cape, and umbrella (all originally black in colour). However, the witnesses believe that the "haunting" activity may have been stirred up by the purchase of an antique bed as opposed to the renovations.
