Over the years we have received a few queries about Sister's Restaurant in Scarborough It has been rumoured to be haunted by locals since at the earliest the 1980's.
In October 2006 Robin Bellamy and a group of students decided from the Toronto District School Board decided to see if there was any truth to these stories. Robin was teaching a class on ghost investigation based on the course book written by Matthew J. Didier and Sue Darroch.
What they found was that long time staff had indeed encountered an adult female apparition and cleaning crews in the building at night also have reported seeing this same figure. Lots of poltergeist-like activity has been reported, especially with the table service and dishes at the buffet.
The building that houses the restaurant was built in the early 1970's and has been owned by the same woman for 30 years. She says she has never seen anything.
Ghosts or no ghosts please do visit Sister's restaurant for the good food and small town homey atmosphere.
If you have encountered the ghost of Sister's restaurant or have further information to add please contact us. Our thanks to Robin Bellamy and her students.
