Bytown Museum - Ottawa

The oldest stone building in Ottawa houses a ghost... but no one's quite sure "who" the ghost is.

Poltergeist phenomena has been reported to us directly and also written about in Barabara Smith's book Ontario Ghost Stories by staff and visitors alike.

A feeling of not being alone, the sounds of footsteps going up the stairs towards the offices area and, according to the book, the ten smoke detectors that are within the building which are covered with plastic covers once "dropped" all ten covers... in unison.

We are currently seeking more information on this building and are looking for folks to fill in the blanks. If you can help, please e-mail our researcher in the area, John.
