Downtown North Bay- apartment
The apartment referred to here has had several incarnations. It has served as a gallery, artist's studio, and decades ago, the land the building stands on was home to a Woolworth's department store, as well as the Pearce Meat Company. Contrary to the information the past tenant was told about the space, it has never served as a funeral home; however, individuals who once owned the property share the same last name as a prominent family in the community. They are best known for their funeral home!
The past tenant of this apartment would often hear footsteps throughout the apartment,
extending into the stairwell leading up to the apartment. He has stated that it was not unusual to hear footsteps behind, approaching and then passing him on these steps. No apparitions were ever sighted; however, objects within the apartment would occasionally be found displaced from their usual locations.
He ahs also experienced some technological irregularities with his telephone, as did the tenants before him (he took over the apartment from friends). It would often ring, and upon being answered, there would be no one on the line. Moments later, he would receive a call from a curious friend, wondering why they had been called and hung up on.
Of course, the tenant had placed no such call. As technicians were never brought in to investigate this quirk with the telephone, one cannot discount the most likely possibility that there were simply mechanical problems with it.
