Massey Hall

Another theatre! Well, as I say, all theatres deserve at least one ghost!

Built by Hart Massey and opened in 1894, it was Toronto's only major concert hall until Roy Thompson Hall opened in 1983. The ghost of Massey Hall, however, has been around considerably longer than Roy Thompson Hall. Apparently (although it has been like pulling teeth to get ANY information about this place other than "it might be haunted"), an apparition of a man wanders the backstage area of this old music hall. He doesn't seem to have any real significance; I've been told no more than that he appears to be in old fashioned dress and seems interested in the stage area.

I have also heard of another apparition of an old lady who sits in the audience, although I have an odd feeling that this story may be mixed up with one from the Royal Alex Theatre.
