PLEASE NOTE: The Toronto and Ontario Ghosts and Hauntings Research Society and the Ghosts Investigation and Research areas in Ontario for PSICAN do not recruit for team members between September and December of any year. If you wish to become a member of our team, you will need to read the course and take our exam between mid-January through late-August. Thank you for your interest. Many people contact us with "specialized skills", callings or previous experience and we do thank them for their offers to assist us but in all honesty, every researcher MUST read the course, understand what, how and why we do things, take the exam, "pass" the exam and finally, have the directors of the Ontario/Toronto Ghosts and Hauntings Research Society decide that they can be part of the team. It sounds very "elitist" and possibly, it is but, we have had a standard of excellence in the field and a reputation of professionalism (although, we are not "professionals" by definition) that has been maintained and has opened many doors for us in the past. We do NOT, however, wish to dampen the spirits (pun unintended) of those wishing to pursue paranormal research and investigation on their own or, within their own "formed" group and STRONGLY suggest that if this area interests you, you can start off with some personal investigations and your own research without a large organizations "banner". Currently, we are looking for people in areas outside the GTA who are "self starters" and can do a combination of looking into existing "haunts" of their own area but, also try to find "newer" and as of yet, unreported (or not covered sufficiently elsewhere) "haunts". We still will look into help within the GTA and are looking, as usual, for "self starters" who would be willing to do research and "field" questions and information requests. So, if you are still interested and are willing to look into things with the GHRS, please read through (carefully) the Free Online Course and on the last page, select the TORONTO/ONTARIO exam and do it as best as you can. REMEMBER We encourage everyone interested to do your own investigation and learning in a safe and respectful way! Just because you're not part of the "big group" should NOT dissuade you from doing excellent research on your own behalf! We encourage EVERYONE interested to read through our documents and visit some of the province's haunted spots!
