This address is now home to Elliot's Used Books. A favourite of ours! And a must visit ghosts or no ghosts. Several years ago, however, it was F/X clothing. And we have learned that those tenants reported that the building was haunted. They subsequently vacated.
A reader and patron writes:
I have never been able to find any history on this location; the third floor is a bit spooky I admit.
We can only add that George Davis (a builder noted for residences on Belmont St) had an office there in 1880. Apparently, it was known at that time as Durham House.
